Jacob BIERENS de HAAN (1870-1937): Company secretary (1900), then managing director of the Nederlandsche Handel-Maatschappij (1918- 1933), he also sat on the supervisory boards of a number of companies established in the Dutch East Indies. Advisory Council member from 1923 to 1934.

Emile David van WALREE (1871-1950): Dutch vice-consul at Yokohama and Shanghai, then managing director of the Nederlandsche Handel- Maatschappij (1913-1918), subsequently managing director of the Twentsche Bank (1920-1924), and lastly director for China and Japan at the Nederlandsch Indische Handelsbank (1926-1928). He was a great expert in Far East business matters. In 1948 he was decorated with the rank of Chevalier in the French Legion of Honour. Advisory Council member from 1914 to 1950.

Marie Paul VOÛTE (1882-1955): Partner of Mirandolle Voûte & Co., an Amsterdam-based firm specialising in trade in products from the Dutch colonies and the management of plantations in the Dutch East Indies. He sat on the supervisory board of the Nederlandsche Handel-Maatschappij (1929-1955, chairman 1954-1955) and of a number of shipping, plantations and insurance companies. Advisory Council member from 1921 to 1955.

Petrus Emelius (Emile) TEGELBERG (1874-1954): Following an army career as an infantry officer, he worked for the steamship company Stoomvaart Maatschappij Nederland , where he was appointed managing director in 1916, then chairman of the supervisory board in 1933. Also a member and chairman of the supervisory board of the Nederlandsche Handel- Maatschappij (1929-1938, 1938-1954), he was in addition a partner in a number of companies in the shipping, insurance, trading and industrial sectors. He also sat on the supervisory board of the Nederlands-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij, the company which ran the railways in the Dutch East Indies. Advisory Council member from 1925 to 1953.

Daniel (Daan) CRENA de IONGH (1888-1970): Managing director (1925- 1934) then president of the Nederlandsche Handel-Maatschappij (1934- 1939), he also sat on the supervisory boards of a large number of companies, including: Bewag A.G. in Berlin, the Koninklijke Nederlandsch Indische Luchtvaart Mij, Koninklijke Nederlandse Hoogovens en Staalfabrieken, and the Stoomvaart Maatschappij Nederland . Advisory Council member from 1935 to 1939.
